As we cautiously and optimistically step into 2022, it’s important to take time to look after yourself and time out from the hustle and bustle of every day life. Even in The Cotswolds where life is a little more chilled, we need spaces of pure relaxation and tranquility. Here's our top five list of the best spas and wellness spots in The Cotswolds to take a little "me time" this year.

Bamford Wellness Spa

Daylesford Organic Farm is a mainstay here in The Cotswolds and they’ve recently extended their holistic wellness space in the heart of the farm to include a herbal steam room, crystal sauna and a wellness pool.

Offering more than just a relaxing spa environment and indulgent treatments, Bamford hold mind and movement classes to harmonise your emotional and mental well-being too.

Step inside Bamford Wellness Spa and their state of the art design swiftly transports you to a world dedicated to relaxation and restoration. This is the perfect spot for some gentle, holistic healing.

Thyme - Meadow Spa

The perfect escape for wellness, good food and fresh country air while surrounded by aesthetically pleasing interiors, Thyme in the village of Southrop is one of our favourite wellness spots in The Cotswolds.

Their Meadow Spa is a haven offering restorative calm and stillness. Providing respite from the hustle and bustle of day to day life, the botanical spa compasses a spring water swimming pool and hot tub. An extension of the spa, it's a serene, quiet place to enjoy from Spring through to Autumn.

Coming soon to the spa is the Orchid House space alongside their spring water swimming pool. A tranquil, ‘residents only’ area, the roof of the Orchid House is covered with native orchids, attracting a kaleidoscope of butterflies and honey bees.

Here you can enjoy a simple menu of salads, sorbets or even a slice of cake paired with juices, rosé and bubbles.

Cowley Manor - C-Side Spa

Head to this spectacular country house in the heart of the Cotswolds to be whisked away to the C-Side Spa. Inspired by the natural beauty of The Cotswolds’ countryside, C-Side won the Condé Nast award for Best Spa in a UK Hotel and excels with their holistic treatments including therapeutic massages, advanced facials and speciality pregnancy treatments.

Their spa features a Cotswold green-slate lined heated indoor pool and a spectacular heated outdoor pool which have been specially designed for lounging. A highlight of their treatments is their signature Green & Spring range, designed by Jessica Frankopan and exclusive to C-Side. Only here can you experience their treatments for yourself and they are a truly indulgent treat.

Make a lovely weekend or day trip in the area by heading to nearby Cheltenham for some retail therapy or walking to The Green Dragon Inn in Cockleford. Here you can enjoy some delicious pub food while also checking out their shop there now with lots of local food treats and beautiful homeware.

Calcot & Spa

Described as a Cotswold playground, Calcot and Spa’s 220 acres of gorgeous countryside is focussed on bringing excellence, from their delicious food and stylish rooms to peaceful spa.

Nestled in a quiet corner of their grounds, Calcot Spa is the perfect place to revive, refresh and feel good, inside and out. Their spa features a 16m heated indoor pool but the highlight is their fireside hot tub in the lavender-lined courtyard, the perfect spot to warm up and unwind in winter. Inside, the bliss continues with a sauna, steam room and relaxation lounge as well as seven treatment rooms—all designed to be completely soothing and utterly blissful.

If you’re looking for a weekend or spa getaway, Calcot has it all. Plus it’s a perfect spot for exploring the nearby towns of Tetbury and Malmesbury. It’s also close to Westonbirt Arboretum to take in some wonderful walks and restorative forest bathing.

Dormy House Hotel & Spa

On the outskirts of Broadway, Dormy House Hotel and Spa is the kind of place that feels like home. Their decorations at Christmas are always gorgeous and the attention to detail doesn’t go amiss here.

The House Spa has been winning awards since the day it opened and offers guests an indoor/outdoor blend of soothing therapies as well as a serene infinity pool for floating away your troubles. To warm up these chilly winter days, their terrace hot tub and Scandi-style thermal suite are a real treat.

For further post-treatment wind downs, their spa café The Greenhouse is a real highlight! With its own sun terrace and wood burning fireplace, this is the perfect place to continue chilling out while enjoying some soothing drinks or light nutrition-focussed lunches and snacks.
