We all could do with a little bit of good news right now and coming across thriving businesses and new business ventures born and bred in The Cotswolds is just the positive energy we love to see!

Whether you're a foodie looking for a new delectable spot or you're an interiors lover looking to make the most of our time indoors by finally decorating with pieces you love, we've chosen seven businesses from The Cotswolds for you to explore and support over the coming months.

The New Inn at Coln St Aldwyns

The New Inn situated in Coln St Aldwyns opened up a few weeks ago and is run by Baz & Fred, two entrepreneurs who also run the successful pasta and pizza pub named The Stump, so the premise is already exciting! Wanting to create more amazing places to eat, drink and sleep in their local home of The Cotswolds, The New Inn tackles a concoction of cocktails and burgers.

The food looks absolutely delicious and it can all be enjoyed in the setting of their 16th-century coaching inn in a beautiful sleepy corner of The Cotswolds. For those who fancy an overnight stay, there's also 14 luxurious ensuite bedrooms to choose from.

Speaking of Baz & Fred, they've just announced that they're creating a brand new site, the Old Gore barn which will be a stunning wedding venue right in the heart of The Cotswolds.

A video rendering of what the venue will look like can be found over on their Instagram here and it looks like it's going to be an exciting and unique new wedding venue within The Cotswolds - taking bookings for summer 2021.

In Elements

It has been nearly a month since pizza and beer pop up In Elements opened its doors and invited everyone in for a fun and delicious way to celebrate the end of the working week! Founded by Jonathan, Jamie & Freya, In Elements was created as a space in the elements for people to eat and drink safely under the new COVID restrictions.

Open every Friday from 5pm - 8pm in the town of Chedworth, you can enjoy local brews, wood-fired pizza and we hear there's a Nutella and marshmallow calzone that we can't wait to try! Follow In Elements on Instagram to find out more.

Otis and Belle

A former head chef at one of London's finest French bistros, Will Alexander has left the bistro life to set up his own independent venture, Otis & Belle right here in The Cotswolds.

A Le Cordon Bleu pastry chef, Will's bringing his patisserie expertise to Otis & Belle to make everything from sausage rolls and Cornish pasties to eclairs and Paris-Brest (our favourites!). We have a feeling that this bakery in Moreton-in-Marsh is definitely going to be something special and they've already had an amazing reception since only opening their doors this week!

The website is still a work in progress but the important barista-style coffee and baked goods are already up and running and you can follow Otis & Belle on Instagram for all the food envy.

Pooky X Matthew Williamson

Pooky isn't by any means a new business but this Cotswolds-established lighting company has a new collaboration that's extremely exciting and brings all the colour and patterns for an instant hit of positivity.

Pooky has teamed up with award-winning British designer Matthew Williamson to create a brand new collection of 11 decorative lampshades. Matthew Williamson is known for his flamboyant colour palette and the personality he weaves into his designs. The prints on these lampshades are no exception.

Printed on fine cotton fabrics, the tone ranges from explosive colour to designs which are slightly more demure. To check out the Pooky x Matthew Williamson collection, click here.

Local family portrait photographers

During those spring days of lockdown, doorstep portrait photography became a beautiful trend and local Cotswolds photographers who usually made their business off the back of events, started taking these pretty portraits.

With winter setting in, we imagine these will continue to trend as restrictions potentially tighten and people decorate their porches or doorstep for the Christmas months. They're a beautiful capture of home and family and we're sharing two of our favourite photographers in The Cotswolds that you should reach out to for future family portrait photos!

Amelia behind ACEsnaps Photography took some beautiful doorstep portraits and is currently offering Autumn mini shoots over on her website for families that want portraits out in the natural beauty of autumn.

Alexis Knight is a family and wedding photographer whose photos capture an ethereal and magical look that feels inspired by the beauty of The Cotswolds. Check out her website to see all the services she offers, from family portraits to professional headshots.

She's launching a new venture, Home School Interiors as a form of interior design homeschooling. With Lauren as the tutor, you can create your perfect home interiors using her practical interior design tools for furniture, kitchen and bathroom.

We love the concept and are excited for Home School Interiors to launch later this month. You can keep an eye on any launch announcements over on their Instagram.
