Foxholes Woodland


Nestled just 4 miles north of Burford, the enchanting Foxholes woodland is made up of a sprawling 23 hectares. Come spring, the forest floor transforms into a vibrant tapestry of primroses, violets, and early-purple orchids, while May sees a breathtaking sea of bluebells sweeping across Foxholes. To truly appreciate the beauty of Foxholes, take the 1.75-mile circular wildlife walk within the grounds. For those craving more, the Foxholes Wild Walk invites you on an 11km circular adventure starting from Shipton-under-Wychwood. This route guides you through the ancient splendours of the Foxholes nature reserve, promising an immersive experience with nature’s finest showcases.

Highgrove gardens

Located in Tetbury, Highgrove is the private home of Their Majesties The King Charles III and The Queen Camilla. The house is not open to the public, however during some select dates in April, you can book to go on a 90 minute guided tour through the grounds' gorgeous gardens, which have been carefully curated over 35 years by HRH King Charles III. The gardens capture the unique ambience of Highgrove and showcase a rich variety of landscaping and flora and fauna. Not one to miss if you're in the area!

Lambing at Cotswolds Farm Park

Wild swimming

There’s nothing quite like the bracing coolness of fresh water swims, and with a little warmth in the air and from the sunshine, it's the perfect time to dive into wild swimming . There are plenty of rivers, lakes and wild swimming spots around The Cotswolds to choose from, such as Mister Lovell in Witney or the Cheese Wharf at Lechlade.
