The Cotswolds are known for their beauty, whether you're looking for picturesque landscapes, beautiful winding rivers, charming villages or stunning stone towns. You'll find no shortage of awe-inspiring views. But sometimes it's nice to be visually stunned during the smaller moments, from a beautifully-designed restaurant which makes a good meal taste better, to charming decor in a café. If you're a lover of all things interior design and appreciate aesthetically pleasing spots, we have planned the perfect day out in The Cotswolds for you!

Where to go for breakfast: The Cotswold Guy

Renowned for its sausage rolls, this gem in Guiting Power might have been where we first fell for some incredible cuisine, yet the new establishment nestled in the hamlet of Gagingwell, Oxfordshire, now boasts table service. It continues to serve old TCG favourites alongside some remarkable new additions. Offering breakfast and lunch daily, it also features themed menus, such as Friday being pizza day. While the food is simply irresistible, the cosy and inviting decor will make it a challenge to depart once you've satisfied your appetite for the day ahead.

For a drink: 131 bar in Cheltenham

Bar 131's mantra, "Come for the cocktails, stay for the atmosphere," is more than just an enticing invitation; it's a testament to their captivating charm that has swiftly established them as Cheltenham's premier spot for late-night drinks. This acclaim is not only due to their delectable terrace snacks and the beautifully designed, sun-kissed space that feels boundless but also their impressive collection of over 400 gins, which is continuously expanding. Their knowledgeable staff are adept at selecting the perfect gin to complement your mood. Moreover, with both the terrace and bar welcoming dogs until 8pm, you can bring along your cherished canine companion, making the prospect of leaving even more challenging.

For a coffee: Lynwood and co

Since its inception in 2015, Lynwood & Co has been at the forefront of serving independent coffee and exquisite food. By marrying the laid-back, family-centric coffee culture of Sydney with the picturesque charm of villages and towns across The Cotswolds, they've created a truly unique experience. Their commitment to working exclusively with local and independent producers is a testament to their quality and community spirit. This dedication hasn't gone unnoticed; Lynwood & Co was honoured as the Best Coffee Shop of the Year 2016 at the Cotswold Life Food & Drink Awards and earned a spot on the Guardian's 2017 list of the 50 best breakfast places in the UK.

For a bit of shopping: Montpellier, Cheltenham

Cheltenham is made up of many unique shopping districts including Montpellier the home of stylish eats and chic boutiques. This district is rich in historic and iconic architecture; from The Rotunda (pictured above left), now the elegant setting of the Ivy Montpellier Brasserie, to the gracefully curved facade of the Montpellier Wine Bar (pictured above centre). A notable feature of the area is the stone sculptures known as Caryatids (above right), inspired by the Acropolis in Athens, which contribute to the distinctly continental ambiance of Montpellier.

Montpellier has established itself as a premier destination for those seeking independent fashion, antiques, and lifestyle boutiques. Here, discerning shoppers can explore exclusive retailers such as Beatrice Von Tresco, Sandra Dee, and L’una Design. Additionally, the district is home to a selection of independent jewellers and Park Gallery, an independent contemporary art gallery, offering a curated experience that reflects the unique character of Montpellier.
