Outdoor dining edit

On the journal this week we thought we’d share a celebration of al fresco dining - it isn’t often in England that we get to enjoy the simple pleasure of long-leisurely meals, shared in the open air but the current forecast looks promising! So we thought we’d put together some of our favourite accessories to dress your table this summer to add a splash of sunshine...

Clockwise from top left:

Cox & Cox, outdoor furniture

Cox & Cox have got a fantastic range of outdoor furniture, whether you are looking for a small patio set for morning coffee, or a larger dining table in a range of wood and rattan for a rustic look, or modern industrial metal and concrete.

Benuta, outdoor rug

Indoor/Outdoor living is a huge trend in home design in recent years; with outdoor lighting and rugs creating that sense of an 'outdoor' room, within your garden. These clever outdoor rugs from Benuta are great for dressing a terrace, simply add outdoor sofas and a firepit for an al fresco living space to enjoy late into the summer evenings.

HADEDA, Mogalakwena Napkins

These beautiful hand-embroidered napkins on 100% linen are a future heirloom addition to any table; great for picking out the tones in your glassware or accessories - or indeed, your garden's own blooms.

Ibbi, Glass Candlesticks

Adding height and drama to the centre of your table, these glass candlesticks from Ibbi come in a range of jewel tones. Play with different scales and colours to create an intimate evening setting.

Brassica Mercantile, Rope placemats

These paper rope placemats from homewares emporium, Brassica Mercantile are great for a relaxed, mix and match look. The perfect foil for a natural linen table cloth.

Not Another Bill, Enamel Splatterware

Splatterware, originally from Southern Italy, is having a moment this summer. Adding texture to a tablescape, they make the perfect backdrop to summer salads. Look out for enamel options for a more robust, outside option!

NKUKU, Amber glassware
Coloured glassware is a great way of tying together a colour scheme and injecting a bit of fun into your less formal outdoor dining place settings.
