Vendors' thoughts: "Relocating back from California, we were searching for a spacious, comfortable and bright home in beautiful countryside. Viewing the Threshing Tythe Barn, we knew immediately it was more than perfect for us. Modern and tasteful in its recent conversion but retaining so much wonderful character in the stonework, beams and grand entrance. We had found a unique home that is open and bright, providing ideal space for entertaining. Outside, we were given a blank canvas in an empty field. We worked with Graduate Gardeners to create a garden that is structured to be both peaceful and private, as well as providing a haven for wildlife. Our search was driven by the house not the location, but serendipity would have it that we landed in the most wonderful of areas. Not only is it a friendly village, but we are nestled in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, brimming with footpaths that wind through the wooded hillsides of the Cotswold escarpment. And we have the convenience of being near to small towns such as Nailsworth and Stroud, full of independent shopping, pubs and restaurants, and close to a great selection of farm shops. After 10 happy years here, we have set ourselves new horizons. But we hope that we have left a home that is warm, comfortable and has the space to be flexible to whatever the new owners would wish."

In a nutshell: Superb contemporary space in a beautiful period home.
